United States Co-Cities Report
The U.S Co-Cities Report is a research effort to understand how cities around the United States are experimenting with collaborative governance and urban commons. Drawing from X cities and Y case studies, the report analyzes how communities and institutions co-create and manage shared urban resources—like housing, broadband, and green space.
To assess these efforts, we developed the Co-Cities Index, a scoring system that measures how well cities are implementing the right to the city through co-governance. This index helps identify patterns, challenges, and the conditions that support inclusive, sustainable, and participatory urban transformation.
